Kapama River Lodge Safari 6 days

Guests arrive at Johannesburg International, where they will catch a short flight to Eastgate Airport, Hoedspruit. Then they will take another short road transfer to Kapama River Lodge. Depending on the time of arrival, guests will have lunch at the Kapama River Lodge. Check-in is at 14:00 p.m. Guests can choose to rest at the lodge, where they can use all the amenities, or go for an evening game drive. Dinner will be served at the lodge in the evening.

Day 2: Game drives at Kapama River Lodge

Game drives at Kapama River Lodge Guests will have an early morning and late afternoon safari at Kapama Game Reserve. Guided game drives, led by experienced rangers and trackers, offer the opportunity to spot Africa’s iconic Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo) as well as other fascinating creatures. In between safari adventures, guests can unwind and indulge in the lodge’s luxurious amenities. The lodge boasts a sparkling swimming pool overlooking the river, a spa offering a range of rejuvenating treatments, and a fully equipped fitness center for those seeking an active escape. The renowned culinary team at Kapama River Lodge creates exquisite meals, combining international flavors with local South African influences, ensuring a delightful dining experience. Day 3: Kruger National Park Tour

Guests will spend a day in kruger National Park. Kruger National Park is celebrated for its unrivaled biodiversity, boasting an impressive array of plant and animal species. It is home to the famous Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, rhinoceros, and buffalo), along with an abundant population of other mammals, including cheetahs, wild dogs, giraffes, zebras, hippos, and various antelope species. The park is also a birdwatcher’s paradise, with over 500 bird species recorded. Lunch will be take in the Kruger, while dinner will be at Kapama River Lodge.

Day 4: Rest and safari walk at Kapama River Lodge

Guests will at Kapama River Lodge after a full day safari in the Kruger National Park. Other activities at the park include using the swimming pool, going for a spa or using our world class fitness centre. Guest cn also go on a late afternoon safari walk, where they can learn about the smaller details of the African bush and gain a deeper understanding of the ecosystem.

Day 5: Hoedspruit Endangered species tour and game drive

As part of its commitment to conservation and community development, Kapama River Lodge actively participates in various sustainability initiatives and supports local communities. Guests have the opportunity to engage in these efforts and contribute to the preservation of the region’s natural wonders. Hoespruit Endangered Species Centre is a great place to learn more about wild animals and the efforts we are doing to help to conserve them.

Day 6: Early morning game drive and departure

Guests will go for an early game drive and then breakfast afterward. Check-out is at 11:00 a.m. A road transfer will take them to Eastgate Airport, Hoedspruit, where they will fly to Johannesburg International Airport.

What are the requirements for travelling to South Africa?

Travelling to South Africa with children can be confusing. Some few years ago, the South African government required a couple of documents for children to travel with their parents or guardians

A valid passport for the parents/guardians and children
A full birth certificate (original or photocopy of original) if travelling with both parents
If travelling with one parent there is additional documentation , parent consent affidavit not longer than four months and a letter from parents signed by the authorities in case of a guardian

Due to the difficulty in getting some of these documents and the inconvenience it created, the South African government does not require some of these documents anymore. A passport is the only requirement left. However it is advisable to carry your children’s birth certificates with you .

Do you need travel insurance?

It is always advisable to have travel insurance whenever travelling outside Europe and the United States. This will keep you at ease in case something happens. A travel insurance that covers medical situations during your period in South Africa will make your safari smooth sailing. However this is not compulsory, it’s just advisable.

Do you need any vaccines to travel to South Africa?

There are no compulsory vaccines to travel to South Africa if you are coming from Europe or the United States. However you may want to get vaccines against COVID and the other day to day vaccines we take throughout our lives.
