Guests arrive at Johannesburg International Airport where they will take another short fifty-minute flight to Eastgate Airport, Hoedspruit. At Eastgate Airport, they will take a transfer to Tshukudu Game Lodge. Depending on the time of arrival they will be served with lunch in the main dining hall and a welcoming drink. Check-in is at 14.00 pm. After check-in, guests can relax in their rooms, take a dip in the swimming pool, use the bush spa, or go to a curio shop. Dinner starts around 18.30 pm in the boma (if the weather is good) or in the dining hall.
Guests are supposed to wake up around 05:00am for an early morning safari. Coffee/tea with rusks is taken at 05:30am in the dining hall near the reception area while waiting for the game drive to start. The morning safari starts at 6:00 am until 8:00 am. During this safari guests will be able to see some of the big five such as lions, buffalos, rhinos and leopards. Some of the most common sights are wildebeests, zebras and impalas. Breakfast is in the main dining hall after the morning safari. Guests have time to rest and use all our amenities after breakfast while waiting for launch. The late afternoon safari starts at 15:00 pm until 19:00 pm. Dinner will be served in the boma if the weather conditions allow it.
Guests will spend the whole day on a game drive in Krudger National Park, with breaks to eat in-between. The Kruger National Park offers the best sights of the savanna wildlife than any other place in the world. It is vast (almost the size of Switzerland). The common animals are Elephants, Hippos, Giraffes, Hyenas, Wild dogs, Impalas, Zebras. Our guide will carry breakfast packs for our guests. Lunch can be purchased inside the Kruger at designated place. Dinner will be at Tshukudu Game Lodge in the evening.
Guests will experience one of the highlights of this tour, the Blyde River Boat Trip. We organise boat trips along the river Blyde. One of our experienced guides will explain everything about the fauna and flora you see during the tour. The Blyde river canyon is one of the biggest in the world, and the greenest canyon on earth. The passing of water over millions of years has created amazing geographical structures that will take your breath away and that converted this area into a national park.
Guests will go for their final early morning game drive before their departure. After the game drive breakfast will be served in the main dining hall. Check-out is at 11:00am. A transfer will take them to Eastgate Airport for departure.

Frequent Questions

Travelling to South Africa with children can be confusing. Some few years ago, the South African government required a couple of documents for children to travel with their parents or guardians

  • A valid passport for the parents/guardians and children
  • A full birth certificate (original or photocopy of original) if travelling with both parents
  • If travelling with one parent there is additional documentation , parent consent affidavit not longer than four months and a letter from parents signed by the authorities in case of a guardian

Due to the difficulty in getting some of these documents and the inconvenience it created, the South African government does not require some of these documents anymore. A passport is the only requirement left. However it is advisable to carry your children’s birth certificates with you .

It is always advisable to have travel insurance whenever travelling outside Europe and the United States. This will keep you at ease in case something happens. A travel insurance that covers medical situations during your period in South Africa will make your safari smooth sailing. However this is not compulsory, it’s just advisable.

There are no compulsory vaccines to travel to South Africa if you are coming from Europe or the United States. However you may want to get vaccines against COVID and the other day to day vaccines we take throughout our lives.

You need to let us know when you make your booking so that we can adapt our services to your conditions.
